Masts

The mast is the vertical connection between your board and the foil, and determines how high your board rises above the water. The length, stiffness, and material of the mast influence the overall feel with the foil. Shorter masts are ideal for beginners or shallow water. Short masts are also used for pump or surf foiling because they provide a more direct feel. Longer masts offer more space for the foil underwater but are also less direct. Often used by racers or advanced foilers. The mast is often available in carbon or aluminum versions, with one providing a stiffer, more direct feel than the other.
